Ya Gotta be Kidd’n!
We can already tell this is gonna be one of those businesses that has amazing, interesting, or funny stories! We are finding that 99% of customers are giving the rest a bad name! 😊 We believe we will be able to create an entire entertainment category that will be ongoing, and we would like to call it “Ya Gotta be Kidd’n!”
Let’s start with our most jaw-dropping situation. I had just told Colin ‘we have been going on for a while without any problems, so let’s be expecting an accident soon.’ I didn’t expect what happened. Cindy woke up to the police at our front door at 7am one morning (yes, we have given Cindy the employee of the month award several times). Our Turo customer had taken our cute little Jetta to peace-loving Chicago and was involved in a shooting. The policeman thought Colin was the victim so Cindy had to explain it was our car, but it was rented out through Turo. Our customer had been shot by someone in the back seat and tragically is now paralyzed from the waist down. This shooting caused the car to be involved in a wreck, so it wasn’t just the bullet holes through the seat that was a problem. We had to retire Colin’s first Turo vehicle, sadly.
